My Scanner broke, damn it.
A little while ago, I forked out a bit of cash and got myself an A3 Scanner. I do most of my comic page artwork at A3, so it made sense. And it worked great, up until a week or two back. But it started making bad noises and crashing the computer. So, back to the store it went.
It's going to take about a month before it's repaired or replaced. Luckily, I guess, I can't really draw very much where I am at the moment, so hopefully it'll be back in time for me to start producing more art.
Frustrated.

I HAVE A HOME!!!!!!!!
You know what, that about covers it.
The only shitty part is, I don't move in until the 12th of February. So, onc again, my life is stuck in limbo for a while. At least there's a light at the end of this vortex.

Lost in Transistion
Happy New Year.
So far this year has, well, not been going to crash hot. First up, I moved, which turned out to be a rather traumatic experience. My ex flatmates were HUGELY undecided as to what they were going to be doing as far as living arrangements were concerned. It was to up in the air for me, so I was looking around desperately for a new place to live. The first piece of seeming luck that came along was an offer to share with an old school friend. Now, keep in mind, I didn't actually ask if I could live with this girl. I sent a message out on Facebook, asking if anyone knew of a room to rent anywhere. She responded, saying she owns a house, they had a spare room, if I was interested I could take her up on it. I was thrilled and told her straight away that I would gladly take her up on the offer.
At which point, she very quickly rescinded on the offer.
That really pissed me off. If I had of asked, and she did the turnaround thing, fair enough. But to offer something like that, and then take it back, I just felt that was kind of harsh.
So, moving right along. I kept looking, my room mates kept umming and Ahring about whether or not they were going to move or not. I got an offer from some friends about a small spare room they had at their place. All else fails, I could move in there for a while. My room mates were so up in the air about everything, I thought I'd just get pro active and move into this back room. Only problem was, it was just a lot smaller than I was used to. A LOT smaller. I packed up the majority of my belongings, stored them all at my parents house, and moved in.
So that's where I am now. At least until I find a new place to live, which is my number one priority at the moment.
More to come.

Knock Knock
So I was woken up at ten this morning by cats.
No big deal. 10's a reasonable sleep in. and normally, I'd agree with you. Except I stayed up till 4 finishing a movie.
Knock knock was part of the Shooting Spree last august. It was just a silly once off that Tony and I had a blast filming. There's continuity gaffs galore, and I think we had more fun filming it than anyone will have watching it, but I like it. Also, it's nice to have something else finished.
Here it is. Enjoy.

HorrorFlix and Customer Service
So the movie that will never end is getting another couple steps towards completion.
I took this weekend off from work - and there seems to be a whole 'nother story in THAT - so we could try and get some filming done. First up, on Saturday, we finally got together to go a shoot the last few shots we needed for HorrorFlix. It was just meant to be a couple of fill in shots, but I was watching the final edit, and felt it needed something. So I came up with a couple quick and simple ideas which we shot with the full intention that, if they didn't work, we'd just cut them out. Luckily, they worked. I've managed to edit all together, and it works really well. Good God, I think we've got a movie.
Secondly, I can up with a silly idea earlier this week that Tony and I shot today. Earlier this year, we tried to shoot a Trop Fest movie, based on Tony's comic character Black Sparrow. Due to unforeseen events, we never go that shot. We got kicked out of the location. After that, I tried beefing up the script to re try later. While I was writing, I came up with this silly idea about Shrink Ray's. Fast forward to know, and I managed to turn that one throwaway line into a complete idea. We shot Tony's part of it today, which was a real challenge. The script was completely dialogue based, which is new for us. IT took us about 5 hours, plus about an hour and ten minutes of tape to shoot 7 pages of script, which equates about 7 mins of screen time. It was also a trick for me, as I have only ever shot one dialogue scene before, and I cocked that up completely. So it will be interesting to see how this turns out.
By the way. Work sucks.

The bane of Celebrity
I hate doing caricatures.
First up, I can't pronounce the word. Don't ever ask me to say it, because I just can not get the damn thing out of my mouth.
Secondly, I just don't like drawing them. Trying to get all the subtle nuances of a persons face just right, but also trying to enhance and slightly lampoon then at the same time is just freaking mind bending.
So what did I say when when I was offered a job of drawing six celebrity caricatures?
What do you think?
